Origin: Indo-Pacific (from East Africa to Japan, Great Barrier Reef, and Samoa)

Habitat: Coral reefs and reef slopes, often swimming among coral heads

Diet: Herbivore – Primarily eats marine algae and seaweed, but also accepts spirulina, nori, and frozen foods like mysis shrimp

Size: Up to 12 inches (30 cm)

Reef Safe: Yes – Does not nip at corals or clams

Minimum Tank Size: 125 gallons (475 liters)

Temperament: Peaceful – Can become aggressive toward other tangs or similar-shaped fish
