Origin: Central Pacific – Mainly found in Hawaii and surrounding islands

Habitat: Shallow coral reefs and rocky areas with abundant algae

Diet: Herbivore – Grazes on film algae, diatoms, and detritus; also accepts nori, spirulina, and herbivore pellets

Size: Up to 7 inches (18 cm)

Reef Safe: Yes – Safe with corals and clams

Temperament: Peaceful – Generally calm, but may show aggression to other bristletooth tangs
